The excellent wood quality of the 'Allgold'
culms has vibrant gold sheaths with an occasional green stripe
turning beautiful butterscotch yellow with age. The stalks grow
up to 2 inches in diameter, reaching a maximum height of 35 feet.
The Phyllostachys bambusoides Allgold makes an excellent
screen or for ornamental use, yet it is also perfect for its
use of wood in crafting and its shoots considered excellent for
eating.
